The lights appeared
Not long ago
And how we cheered
And praised the glow
We watched the lights
Alone, awake
We chased delights
And ceased to make
Before we knew
How far we’d gone
The flickers grew
We drifted on
The rising glare
Now finds a voice
A fallen prayer,
An empty choice:
“It’s time to come
And step inside
What I’ve become
Will now provide
In trusting me
Your troubles fade
I’ll set you free
With what I’ve made
You stood aside
And ceased to make
Now draw inside
There’s more to take.”
We follow in
The bargain born
Our spirits thin
Our future torn
The lights still talk
As we release
As giants walk
As wonders cease
