James, this is a wonderfully crafted article beginning with the evocative poem and then right into the story of the Megaladon teeth. It is concerning, of course, that we are getting these teeth in the beautiful Chesapeake Bay due to melting; a result of climate warming I assume.
This is both entertaining and informative. I love the way the poem sets the stage for the article.
Thanks so much, Sandy! The Bay's situation is a bit of a mixed bag. It is getting better, and improving year over year, but it's still nowhere close to what it used to be and will likely never get there again. So, it's hanging in there, but much more work needs to be done.
''Forever is a fragment in the end'' I am glad that you repeated it several times throughout the poem. I expect that this phrase will be repeating in my head for a while!
One day, I hope my teeth are sought after like this! 😀 🦷
Nice poem-story!
Hahah right? Thanks man.

hahah thanks, Rasmus. (That's exactly how it was with me!)
This felt charmingly local, hehe. Those pesky park rangers...
The poem was beautiful. I read it slowly and took each line in.
Thanks a ton, Hasse! Yeah, I hear that story every other time I visit the shore. Park rangers or otherwise, some legends only get stronger with time!
I can remember hunting (and finding) shark's teeth in North Carolina fifty years ago with my parents. You brought back a good memory; thank you.
They've got some good ones down there, too, for sure! Have you kept any that you found?
Somewhere, I think.
Enjoyed this post dude, loved the photos too!
Thanks, John, glad you did! (And by the way, getting your book in the mail on Thursday!)
Wow, thanks Bro!! Thank you so much for your support James! 🤜💥🤛
