Such a cheerful telling of a tale that's all too dark. 🌚

Thanks for reading, Lisa! It was indeed my hope for it to be a kind of nursery rhyme, complete with worrisome undertones. (Kind of helps me sometime to reframe modern realities so I can look at them differently.)

I think we all have a far closer relationship with him than we'd like.

It took me a moment to understand who this is about. This could easily be a series, I feel -- "The Book of Faces" could be the next one, hehe.

The poem was great, and it gave me the creeps!

Yeah, I can see the series idea; definitely could be!

And yes, it certainly creeped me out working on it! Definitely a kind of reality I hope we're able to avoid.

Could we be reading about Jeff Bezoz, by any chance. If we're not, I'm still going to go out on a limb and say that anyone who has supported the convict and debased human who gave the most heinous inaugural address in history is hopefully going to get just what they deserve. Did you see Elon Musk give his Nazi salute?!!

hahah yeah it's basically elevating ol' Jeff to that of a mythological antagonist. I find it weird that we used to tell these kinds of stories all the time through songs and nursery rhymes, but now that kind of storytelling has become rare. I figured I'd give it a bit of a go again.

I had to give the news cycle a break around 2020 as it was wreaking havoc on my mental health, so I didn't see much of the events of the weekend. Not that it's bad if anyone watched it; I just tend to place my faith in everyday people these days, and consider those in the news cycle as personalities we have to put up with.

"deity doubled as dealer" ... oof. And the nursery rhyme rhythm really tells the tale.

Yeah, more of a cautionary tale, which I hope the nursery rhyme format eluded to. Thankfully things haven't gotten that bad & ridiculous yet!

"Nursery Rhymes for Modern Times," as Felix Dennis might say.

It’s awesome!

I’ve been working for months on a fable about the Devil and the internet (after the manner of Robert Service) myself, so great minds and all that…😂
